Famous Bollywood Actresses who quit acting after getting married
Considered to be one of the highest paid actresses of her time, Meenakshi made her acting debut in 1983, in the bilingual film Painter Babu. Although, the film was a commercial flop she caught the eye of Subhash Ghai, who cast her opposite another newcomer Jackie Shroff in Hero. She later appeared in critically and commercially acclaimed films like Ghayal (1990) and Damini (1993), opposite actors like Rishi Kapoor and Sunny Deol.
She got married to her investment banker husband, Harish Mysore, in 1995, in New York. The couple along with their three kids, daughter Kendra and sons Josh and Matt, live in Texas. She teaches Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Odissi in the US and performs regularly at charity fundraisers.
The elder daughter of Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna, Twinkle made her film debut opposite Bobby Deol in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Barsaat (1995). Khanna appeared alongside Akshay Kumar in International Khiladi and Zulmi, both in 1999, and a romance blossomed between the two. Her last film was Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001).

Saira made her acting debut in Junglee (1961), opposite Shammi Kapoor, which earned her a Filmfare nomination for best actress. The actress tasted major success when she appeared opposite Sunil Dutt in Padosan (1968).
She married actor Dilip Kumar, her co-star in films like Sagina (1974) and Bairaag (1976), at the age of 22. However, after a series of flops at the box-office in the latter part of 1976, Saira chose to end her film career. She made a guest appearance in Dilip Kumar’s Duniya (1984) and her last film Faisla, which was filmed in 1976, was released in 1988.
