Stefano Gabbana, who co-founded the luxury fashion label Dolce & Gabbana along with Domenico Dolce, has managed to stir up quite a controversy due to his recent remarks about pop star Selena Gomez.
The Italian designer, who has a history of making controversial comments about public personalities, left a scathing comment on a photograph of Selena Gomez uploaded by The Catwalk Italia, a celebrity fashion trends blog, on their Instagram account.
‘È Proprio brutta’ (She is really ugly), commented Gabbana on the photograph that features Gomez in 5 red dress worn by her on different occasions.
Gabbana didn’t stop there. While responding to another user’s comment on the same photograph, Gabbana further insulted Gomez by comparing her to a dog. ‘(Gomez) looks like a Pomeranian dog’, commented the designer.
Gabbana’s tasteless and insulting remarks about Gomez’s appearance received a strong backlash from the pop stars’ fans and other celebrities, with many calling his comments ‘disgusting’ and ‘disrespectful’.
Apart from Selena’s loyal fan base, Miley Cyrus, singer Julia Michaels and actor Tommy Dorfman (13 Reasons Why) criticized the Italian designer for his rude comments and showed their solidarity for Selena Gomez.
