Malayalam film star Dulquer Salmaan, who is all set to make his Bollywood debut opposite Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar in Ronnie Screwala’s Karwan, will be seen in the film adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s 2008 novel The Zoya Factor.
The O Kadhal Kanmani actor will be seen opposite Sonam Kapoor in his second Hindi film.
Anuja’s novel told the story of an advertising executive, Zoya Singh Solanki, who becomes the ‘lucky charm’ of the Indian cricket team.
With Sonam playing the titular character in the romantic-comedy woven around cricket, Dulquer will play the role of Nikhil Khoda, the captain of the Indian cricket team who is sceptical about Zoya and his team’s superstition about her.
The film’s poster, which showed both Salmaan and Sonam holding Anuja’s novel, was released in March this year.
Both Sonam and Dulquer have expressed their eagerness and excitement about their upcoming film.
The film, produced by Fox Star Studios, will be directed by Abhishek Sharma, who has directed films like Tere Bin Laden and Parmanu.
The Zoya Factor is scheduled for release in April 2019.
