Madhuri Dixit to take over Sridevi’s role in Abhishek Varman’s upcoming film
Janhvi Kapoor yesterday took to Instagram to announce that Madhuri Dixit is now set to play the role that was originally meant for the late Sridevi in Abhishek Varman’s film. Jahnvi wrote, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart …Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film… [Sic]” Along with this, she posted a picture of Dixit and Sridevi from the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
While it was long believed that the project was titled ‘Shiddat’, Karan Johar stated otherwise on Twitter yesterday, writing, “Some clarifications!!! Yes…we are honoured and humbled to have @MadhuriDixit on board for @abhivarman ‘s next! NO the film is NOT titled SHIDHAT! Yes, the film will Commence shoot in mid April! The films final cast and credits will be announced soon [sic]!”
Meanwhile, Janhvi herself is set to debut in Shashank Khaitan’s romantic film ‘Dhadak’ opposite Ishaan Khatter. Showing laudable professionalism, Janhvi returned to shoot soon after her mother’s sudden death in Dubai, determined to keep the shoot on schedule. A remake of Marathi blockbuster film ‘Sairat’ and co-produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, Dhadak is set to release on July 6 of this year.
