Ranveer Singh turned up at the News18 Rising India summit dressed in a suit of pale pink with a hot pink pocket square, paired with a polka dotted white shirt.
Channeling a 70’s vibe (and that’s where the style statement comes in), he paired a rudraksha mala and gold tinted glasses with his outfit.
Talking about himself, Ranveer reminisced how he did not know how to deal with the success that came with the release of Band Baaja Baaraat, “It took me two years until I came into my own.” It was not until the commercial and critical success of Lootera and Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela that he felt comfortable enough in his own skin to really own himself. Until that point, he dressed and acted in a way that he believed was ‘suitable,’ “trying to be somebody I was not”. “I felt I should say what I feel like, dress the way I feel like. It’s less taxing,” he said.
And speak his mind he did. Talking about Padmaavat’s journey to release, he recounted how furious he was and how helpless he felt being unable to do something and having been categorically told to stay out of it by his producers and director.
He is now working on Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ and even said that he is now in his character and Khilji is out of his system.
