Sanjay Dutt Opened Up How Spending Time In Jail Changed His Life
When Sanju hit the big screens this Friday, fans got a glimpse at what Sanjay Dutt, the superstar’s life has actually been like. Reportedly there was a scene, which was deleted from the movie, that showed Sanjay’s (Ranbir) helplessness when he finds an overflowing toilet in jail. And recently Sanjay Dutt opened about his struggles during jail time.
In 2013, Sanjay was convicted and sentenced to jail, in connection with the 1993 Bombay serial blasts for the illegal possession of weapons. He spent 18 months in jail and now he has revealed what it did to him on a personal level. “The time I spent in jail made me realize a lot of things. It broke my ego,” he revealed in an interview.
Dutt, married to Maanyata and father to twins Shahraan and Iqra also said, “My confinement days have been nothing less than a roller coaster ride. To look at the positive side, it has taught me a lot and made me a better individual, staying away from my family and my loved ones was a challenge.” These are the words of a man who has learned from his mistake and continues to grow as a person. Sanjay also found moments of happiness, “during those days, I learned how to keep my body in perfect shape, used trash cans and mud pots in place of weights and dumbbells. We also used to have a cultural function every six months in jail where I taught convicts serving out life sentences to mouth dialogues, sing, dance and express themselves through skits,”
