Shahid Kapoor And Shraddha Kapoor Starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu Is In Legal Trouble
It’s been a long time since we last saw Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor together on screen. To be exact, the last time was in in the 2014 Vishal Bharadwaj Drama, Haider.
The couple was praised because they were a fresh match for Bollywood and we are excited to see them together again in T-Series’ Batti Gul Meter Chalu but the movie has found themselves in Legal troubles.
The movie was taken over by Bhushan Kumar’s T-series after the original producer Arjun Kapoor’s KriArj ran into financial troubles.
It has come to surface that Bhushan Kumar has filed a commercial lawsuit against KriArj and EaseMyTrip.com in Delhi High court, seeking a permanent injunction and declaration in respect of certain rights to revenue share over the film BGMC.
EaseMyTrip’s Director Nishant Pitti has, in turn, filed a suit against T-Series and KriArj seeking injunction and declaration of the right of first lien over the revenues of the film.
After listening to both the parties, the Court has reportedly asked both KriArj and EaseMyTrip.com to file their written statements and has allowed T-Series to go ahead and complete the movie.
Let’s hope that all these bumps along the road don’t affect the movie much since we’d love seeing Shahid and Shraddha together on the silver screen again.
