After So Many Years Tabu Broke Her Silence On Marriage
‘Not as yet’, replied Tabu when she was asked by a reporter if she had ever regretted not being married. The topic was brought up during the opening day of the ninth edition of the Jagran Film Festival. Mayank Shekhar, the festival’s director, and Tabu engaged in a conversation about the National Award winning performer’s journey in the field of acting.
The question about her single status came up during an open interaction with the audience. ‘I’m as single as… Next question’, said the 46-year-old actress answering a question from an audience member. During the discussion, the conversation also drifted towards her film Cheeni Kum, in which she played a 34-year-old software engineer who falls in love with a 64-year-old chef.
‘I don’t know the other side, so how can I judge which one is better. Only when I experience marriage, I will understand if this was good or not. I’ve never been married, so I don’t know how good or bad it is’, said the Chandni Bar actress when she was asked about the pros and cons of being single versus being married.
Starting her career in 1980, Tabu has been featured in English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali language films. From acting in critically acclaimed films like Maachis and Astitva, she has also been part of international films like The Namesake and Life of Pie.
